Description
The Arduino CNC Shield makes it easy to get your CNC projects up and running in a few hours. It uses opensource firmware on Arduino to control 4 stepper motors using 4 A4988 Stepper drivers,, with this shield and the Arduino you can build all kinds of robotics or CNC projects including CNC routers, laser cutters and even pick&place machines.
Features
- GRBL 0.8c compatible. (Open source firmware that runs on an Arduino UNO that turns G-code commands into stepper signals (https://github.com/grbl/grbl)
- 4-Axis support (X, Y, Z , A-Can duplicate X,Y,Z or do a full 4th axis with custom firmware using pins D12 and D13)
- 2 x End stops for each axis (6 in total)
- Spindle, Coolant enable and direction
- Uses removable Pololu A4988 compatible stepper drivers. (A4988, DRV8825 and others)
- Jumpers to set the Micro-Stepping for the stepper drivers. (Some drivers like the DRV8825 can do up to 1/32 micro-stepping )
- Compact design.
- Stepper Motors can be connected with 4 pin molex connectors.
- Runs on 12-36V DC. (At the moment only the Pololu DRV8825 drivers can handle up to 36V so please consider the operation voltage when powering the board.)
Note:
- The kit has to be soldered by yourself, not include the safety fuse and jumper.
Shipment for kit:
* DHL, Fedex do not allow to ship this item recently since the capacitor is oversize for security reason, please don’t choose other shipping options.

A well, made board. It is a kit so some assembly was required. I found some toothpicks and miniture clamp and rubber bands really help hold male and female header in place for soldering. figur about an hour assembly if you have everything at hand.
Note, the layout shows a fuse, but this part is not included in the kit. This appears to be a recent addition so this may need to be jumped with a wire. I’ll probably add a fuse if I can determine what type and value are required. Once assembled you will need to add the shorting blocks. These are not included, but ElectroDragon has them at a great price so buy a few of those when you order the board.

Great Product!
Don’t forget to run a wire across the fuse through holes.
I suggest buying also connectors to plug in motor wires:
https://www.electrodragon.com/product/xh-2-54-connector-pair-with-cable-variblespins/
They will make a more solid connection and fit nicely.
Also, you will need jumpers, grab a bag:
