No documentation at all, unable to use it….

Good solid product. You have to read the wiki page for the connections and use github code in the beginning. Support from the store is excellent. I achieved around 30cm with the included fat card. Buzzer is not included.

Good range compared to other modules. Does require good quality power supply to reach its advertised 40cm though (the video in the description was run on 3xAA/AAA type batteries!) but even on a “normal” supply you will get ~20cm. I don’t know the exact range I get out of the cheap rdm6300 modules under comparable circumstances with the same card but it might be as short as ~2cm. So thumbs up for this module. Was also able to run it on 3.3V … range seems to be the same as on 5V (at least with a crap power supply).

Sorry for the bad review earlier. forgot to login. Its working now. Thanks:)

Excellent Board. Reading range is exactly as mentioned in the title. Reading range reduce when the antenna in the RFID tag becomes smaller and smaller. This is obvious. The white card has bigger antenna and hence works at distance of 30cms. If you use keyfob the reading distance reduces to half. This has nothing to do with this item. A good value for money. Customer support is good.

Using the Wiegand interface to a mega 2560 board, I achieved 100mm +-5mm with the card, and around 45mm with a small tag. Works for the application i needed, and good sized antenna.

Works well, I certainly get a reliable 20 cm read range with the card and slightly less with smaller tags. Wiring diagram and specification provided in the order tracking email, and when I lost it they replied to give me access to the password protected wiki page.

Hi, thinking of buying this item.
Do you have a working code for this product so I can use it easily?
    Thanks 🙂

    Jacob Lee,

I am trying to use a Mega 2560 board, but have been unsuccessful. I see you seem to have been successful. I am getting good read range if the LED is to be believed, but unable to get Serial information from card or tags.

Can you tell me how to do this?

    Thanks!

  14. Chao (store manager)

    Dear Ed,

You must read the wiki page instruction for the usage: https://www.electrodragon.com/w/EL125_HDK

For serial port output, you must select pin 3 to high, otherwise could be no output.

    Best regards,

  15. Alparslan

good luck, can this product be used with arduino?

    Hi,
It was worked well with arduino, but now it shows “FFFFFF” (in HEX) sometime during the reading. What could be the problem?
    Thanks,
    Balázs
