This USB to TTL converter works fine. Drivers are included in most Linux distributions; Windows and Mac OS works after driver installation.

It is very inexpensive and a good USB to serial converter i had used.
It provides 3.3 V and 5V with short ciruit protection capabilities, simply awesome feature.

This work well with 8051 projects under real terminal which can be found on source forge. when used with arduino boards, you have to remember to push the reset button ….

OS X driver is at http://www.prolific.com.tw/US/ShowProduct.aspx?p_id=229&pcid=41 but it doesn’t seem to work (and I think they know it because that page even links to some third-party drivers. But one of them is paid and the other requires disabling driver signing…)

This is a nice tool.
It is possible to use it on Windows 8 or 10 but you’ll have to follow this tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H394FnMzeFo

Works well under Linux, the colour coded 3.3V/5V is a nice touch.
